Highland games are events held throughout the year in Scotland and other countries as a way of celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture and heritage, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. Certain aspects of the games are so well known as to have become emblematic of Scotland, such as the bagpipes, the kilt, and the heavy events, especially the caber toss. Celtic Heritage Festival host a wide arrangement of events. The events are under the direction of Mr. William Harrison.

Arts and crafts comprise a whole host of activities and hobbies that are related to making things with one's own hands and skill. These can be sub-divided into handicrafts or "traditional crafts" (doing things the old way) and "the rest". Some crafts have been practised for centuries, while others are modern inventions, or popularisations of crafts which were originally practised in a very small geographic area. In the Pavillion at Celtic Heritage Festival you can see first hand the magnificent marvels of our cultural groups. Headed up by Marina Carter our cultural groups are very informative and are more than delighted to answer any and all questions you may have for them. Or you can just wish to sit back and marvel at their abilities.
